X-Lite Version 2 Installation Instructions

Please note that you will need to register for AdamTalk before using X-Lite.

System Requirements:

Processor: Pentium III 700 MHz (or equivalent)
Memory: 128 MB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 30 MB
Operating System: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Mac OS X 10.4
Internet Connection: 256/64 (Minimum) 512/128 or above (Recommended)

Step 1 - Download
Download the software from the Adam Website here.
It is best to save the software to your desktop, so it is easy to find and install.

Step 2- Running Installation

  • Once you have downloaded the software, Double-click on the icon to start the instalation process.
  • For Windows users: You may be prompted to click Run to continue.
  • Vista users may also be prompted by the User Account Control dialog. Click Continue to authorise installation.

 

  • You will now be prompted to install X-Lite.
  • Click Next to continue.
  • The End User License Agreement will now appear.
  • To agree to these terms, click the radio button labelled 'I accept the agreement' and click Next.
  • You can select where you would like X-Lite installed.
  • By default, it will be installed in C:\Program Files\X-Lite.

 

  • If you do not wish to alter the installation directory, click Next.

 

  • If you would like to create a shortcut to your desktop or a Quick Launch icon (which appears in your taskbar), select these now.
  • If you would like the phone software to launch whenever you turn on your computer, also tick the option Launch the application when Windows starts.

 

  • Once you are finished click Next.
  • The program will then install using the options you selected on setup. This should take a few minutes.
  • When installation is complete, it may prompt you to restart your computer. You will need to do this to begin using the X-Lite software.

 

  • If it does not prompt you to restart your computer, it will have an option to start X-Lite when you click Finish.
Step 3 - Configuring X-Lite
  • The main console will now be displayed. It should automatically open to setting up SIP proxy information. If it hasn't, to configure X-Ten for use with Adam Talk manually, click on the MENU icon, which is located to the right of the Clear icon.
  • Select SYSTEM SETTINGS and then SIP proxy, and select a Proxy ID.

  • Enter the following Settings:
  • Display Name: Your Adam username (without "@adam.com.au")
  • Username: Your Adam username (without "@adam.com.au")
  • Authorization User: Your Adam username (without "@adam.com.au")
  • Password: Your Adam Internet Password
  • Domain/Realm: sip.adam.com.au
  • SIP Proxy: sip.adam.com.au
  • Out Bound Proxy: sip.adam.com.au
  • Send Internal IP: Never (if behind NAT)
  • The rest of the options can be left as default.
  • Click Apply to save settings.
